Cycling has been deeply ingrained in my life since my first BMX bicycle at age 5. From BMX riding and racing, to mountain biking, then road biking and cyclocross, I've been blessed to be a part of this great sport in many ways - and now, most recently, as a coach.

I returned to graduate school in 2004 with the goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian. I had developed a keen interest in nutrition via cycling, and wanted to learn how to help others use nutrition to improve their health and their lives.

My lovely and supportive wife, Melanie, and wonderful 3-year-old daughter, Lily, are my inspiration and my driving force,

I am incredibly excited and happy to be able to help others reach their goals - whether athletic, health-related, or a combination of these. At Ascend Nutrition + Coaching, we look forward to helping you define your own peak - and reach it!

Cycling has been my passion since I was physically able to pedal a bicycle. My father was into cycling and I wanted to pedal just like him. At a young age, I would do laps around our house. Those laps lead me to my first mountain bike race at age seven and I was hooked.

Eventually I borrowed a cyclocross bike to train on the road to get "faster" for the woods!  But inevitably the road "training" contributed to me switching over from the "dark side" because I loved the group camaraderie of road riding. I competed in my first road national championship at age 13. I raced competitively through juniors and collegiate years all the while competing on the local, regional, and national elite level for road and cyclocross.

My cycling husband (Family Med/Sports Med Physician, Michael "Rigby") and I have two young children and we are happy to be on any bike! Right now I have switched back over to the "dark side" and I am really enjoying mountain biking.

Along with my passion for being on the bike, I have a passion to help, mentor, and encourage others who share that interest. I have coached and consulted athletes throughout the last ten years and I truly love helping people understand our sport and reach their goals.
